— In-Game Description

Dubious Food is a piece of food in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

Dubious Food is created when any combination of incompatible ingredients - such as food ingredients with lizards, frogs, insects or Monster Parts; or food ingredients which do not constitute a valid dish by themselves (such as Hylian Rice) - are cooked in a lit Cooking Pot.

Unlike Rock-Hard Food, it is possible to create Dubious Food which restores multiple hearts - for instance, five Tabantha Wheat create Dubious Food which restores five hearts; and Moza's so-called "ancient meat dish" of meat and a Guardian part can have 12 hearts with four Raw Gourmet Meat and a Giant Ancient Core. Also, Dubious Food cannot be cooked in the Trial of the Sword because of both the lack of critters and monsters not dropping parts once defeated.

Dubious Food has a distinct cooking animation and sound, with clanking metal sounds and a puff of black smoke at the end. Link will also grimace when eating it.

Age of Calamity

The recipe for Dubious Food is obtained by completing the quest Extreme Survival Cuisine. Cooking it before a scenario will double the Rupees obtained, at the cost of reducing maximum health for the duration by 20%.

Cooking Ingredients

Tears of the Kingdom

Dubious Food is created when any combination of incompatible ingredients - such as food ingredients with lizards, frogs, or insects are cooked in a lit Cooking Pot. Dubious Food has a distinct cooking animation and sound, with clanking metal sounds and a puff of black smoke at the end. Link will also grimace when eating it.

Dubious Food can be taken to Moza at the Rikoka Hills Well, where she transforms it into Monster Stew for 10 Rupees.
