Breath of the Wild

"The most precious gem one can find in Hyrule, its signature sparkle has charmed Hyruleans for generations. As such, it has sold for a very high price since ancient times."

— In-game description

Diamond are the rarest of the Gems found in Breath of the Wild. Only a select few of them are found in the overworld Chests, located near Hyrule Castle, and on the outskirts of the map, in the Hebra Tower and Wasteland Tower regions. They can also be found occasionally from mining Rare Ore Deposits, from the Rare Stone Talus, or from the following side quests:

Diamonds are required as part of the payment to remake any of the Champions' weapons. Link must also supply three diamonds to have a Diamond Circlet made for him by Fashion Passion in Gerudo Town, and further diamonds to have a Great Fairy enhance it.

Alternatively, they can be sold to shop-vendors such as Beedle for 500 Rupees each.

Age of Calamity

This section describes a subject that is or may be outside the core Zelda canon.

Cadence of Hyrule

Sprite for 3x Diamonds from Cadence of Hyrule.

In Cadence of Hyrule, diamonds are a form of special currency accepted by Beedle, the Great Fairies (in exchange for weapon enhancements), and the Representative of the Fates upon death. They are among the only things the player does not lose upon death.

Diamonds can be earned in one of two ways: one, clearing out all the enemies on a screen, or two, defeating bosses in random mini dungeons.

If the player dies with zero diamonds, a diamond will appear in the Fates' store. Note that if the game is on permadeath mode, dying resets the game, including all diamonds collected up to that point.
