The Crown Dungeon is the fifth dungeon in Oracle of Ages. Link first discovers the dungeon within the region of the Rolling Ridge, home of the Gorons, and gains access to the dungeon after obtaining the Crown Key from the Goron Elder. Within, there are two floors. The dungeon's namesake is due to the layout of the first floor, which resembles a crown. Midway through the dungeon, Link will face the miniboss, Smasher. At the end of the dungeon, Link faces off with the boss, Smog, putting maximum ability into his newly found item, the Cane of Somaria. When Link comes out on top, he receives the Sacred Soil, the fifth of the Essences of Time, as well as a Heart Container.
