Cheval is an inventor who lives just south of Lynna Village in the Past. His goal is to invent Flippers for swimming and a special kind of rope that will not decay in water.
After completing the Wing Dungeon, Link will meet up will meet up with Rafton, who can help him get to Crescent Island, the location of the next Essence of Time. To construct the raft, Link must bring Rafton some rope that will not decay in water. Since Cheval's inventions will not be finished any time soon, Link must travel to the present, where he will find the Flippers and Cheval Rope within Cheval's grave in the Yoll Graveyard.
