The Castle Town Sewers are a location in Twilight Princess, first ventured through when Link is dragged into the Twilight and locked away there. It is further explored later on in the game after Zant nearly kills Midna through exposing her to too much light at the Lanayru Spring, after this incident Wolf Link carries the weak Twili through the area in order to reach Zelda, who Midna desperately seeks to visit.

First Visit
Story
Upon awakening here Wolf Link first tries to move around break the shackle on his left paw, but to no avail. However, when it seems no hope is left for the Hero, Midna appears before him. She smiles mischievously and soon Link finds himself staring at her face to face as she enters upon him within his cell. In response he growls at her but she is far from intimidated and states that she wants to help him. Calming down , Wolf Link stops growling and lets her help him, at first she taunts him about not being a human anymore but she laughs when he barks at her and soon uses her Twilight Magic to break the chain that bound him to the ground there. Midna then states that she’d tell him where he was if he managed to get out of the cell, and after breaking a crate nearby, Wolf Link manages to locate some soft dirt and dig out of his prison. Midna laughs a little after he gets out, and as Wolf Link looks around he soon finds the imp girl riding on his back much to his chagrin. He barks at her and tries to shake her off but Midna stays put and states that she’d help him so long as he does exactly what she says. Having no better choice, Wolf Link obliges and the two of them slowly navigate through the sewers. More or less this is in a way the tutorial of how to use the basic abilities Link only has in his Wolf form, as Midna informs him about such things throughout the area. Eventually after climbing up a large spiraling staircase the two make it outside and Wolf Link sees that they were previously in the sewers connecting Castle Town and Hyrule Castle, as the spirit of a soldier outside recalls his previous experiences during an event that took place within the Castle, Midna laughs at this though and states that is not the person she wants Link to meet.
Upon awakening in the prisons that lie beneath Hyrule Castle, Wolf Link attempts to move, but he is bound to a shackle on his left paw. After attempting to break the shackle, a mysterious figure appears before him. This is in fact Midna, a cursed Imp. Link first sees Midna as a threat, but she soon offers her assistance. Now at ease, Wolf Link stops growling and lets her help him escape his imprisonment. Midna proceeds to break the chain with her Twilight Magic. After finding a small dig spot, Link escapes the cell and teams up with Midna. The pair navigate their way through the puzzling sewers and find themselves on Hyrule Castle's rooftops, where they later encounter Princess Zelda.

Second Visit
Link must revisit this location later in the plot, when on his quest to retrieve the Master Sword. The young hero, now cursed in Wolf Form, searches desperately for the entrance to Hyrule Castle, in an attempt to find Princess Zelda, at Midna's request. Through the help of Telma's Cat, Louise, Link is able to find a secret entrance that leads to the sewers. The young hero now finds himself in a new area and he must utilize the sticks within the vicinity in order to burn the spider webs and delve deeper through the dungeons. Link soon comes upon the spiraling staircase, which he encountered on his previous visit. After crossing the broken sections of the staircase, Link finds himself at the top, where he can once again traverse the rooftops of Hyrule Castle.
Through the help of Telma's Cat, Wolf Link is able to sneak into the sewers again later in the game when Midna is in a very weak state, however upon sneaking through the upper area of Telma's Bar the duo have their first encounter with the Imp Poes present in the game. Using his senses to take it out quickly, Wolf Link rips the ghost’s soul out and speaks with the golden petrified man named Jovani who lives there. Jovani explains how he got consumed by greed long ago and was turned to gold by the Poes he sold his soul to because of it, he then goes on about how his life was miserable now and requests that Link helps him return to normal by collecting the souls of these creatures. He then opens up the entrance to the sewers present in his house and tells Wolf Link that if he ever wants to visit him he can just big in a certain spot outside his house, currently due to it being raining this was impossible though. Link jumps down into this opening and find himself back into the sewers now, unlike the first visit it’s no longer shrouded in Twilight though, and after opening another gate the two of them continue to flow down the waterway they fell into. In the next part of the sewers Wolf Link burns some webs and lights a few torches, all the while taking out a few Skulltulas, Keese, and Bulblins. After this he finds a spot to dig into and eventually Wolf Link has to once again climb up the large spiraling stair case, but with Bulblins positioned all over it now, this time certainly proves more troublesome. After taking out these Bulblins and cautiously crossing some ropes, Wolf Link manages to get to the top and soon finds himself on the bridge leading to Zelda’s tower.
