The Candle is an item found only in The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link to date. In both games the candle is used to light dark areas.

In The Legend of Zelda, the Candle can also be used as a weapon along with its primary use of lighting dark rooms and burning bushes. By pressing the item button when the Candle is equipped, Link will shoot a flame two spaces in front of him. The flame deals the same damage as the Wooden Sword and can burn bushes which reveal secrets.
The Blue Candle, the first one obtained in the game, can be bought for 60 Rupees and can only be used once until Link moves to a different screen.
