The Camera Rune is a Rune ability for the Sheikah Slate in Breath of the Wild.
Breath of the Wild
The Camera rune is obtained at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab in Hateno Village after Link completes a quest for Purah, who describes it as one of the Sheikah Slate's "basic functions".
The Camera allows Link to take and collect pictures. There are also many pictures already stored when the Rune is obtained; these are part of the Captured Memories quest to recover Link's memories.
The Camera Rune can assign newly-taken photos of weapons, animals, monsters and other objects to fill the Hyrule Compendium. If the Sheikah Sensor is upgraded with 3 Ancient Screws to the Sheikah Sensor +, the photos in the Compendium can then be assigned to find any object which there is a Compendium entry for.
