Bottle bugs are an item found in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. They are often hiding under rocks. Link may capture a bug by trapping it in a bottle or may be purchased in certain shops for 100 Rupees.
When released near a patch of Soft Soil, the bug will reveal a Gold Skulltula. Link may also sell the bug to a shop for fifty rupees. In Majora's Mask, Link call also release bugs in patches of soft soil to receive arrows, rupees or bombs. If a bottle'd bug is released, three bugs will come out from the battle, giving the possibility to catch them again and increase the bug supply. This can be used to make a good amount of rupees, as you can sell all but one bug, release it and catch the bugs coming out of the bottle, and repeating the process.
