The Book of Magic, or Magic Book, is an obtainable item found in The Legend of Zelda. This book is actually an upgrade to a previously acquired item; the Magical Rod. Before, the beam of the Magical Rod would disappear after it made contact with something. The Book of Magic upgrades this flaw, causing the beam to now burst into flames after it hits something. This eruption of flames can be used to light up dark rooms or harm enemies. The Book of Magic is one of two acquirable items in the penultimate dungeon of The Legend of Zelda, the Lion. The other is the Magical Key, which is used to unlock Locked Doors an unlimited amount of times.
