— In-Game Description

The Blue Nightshade is a plant and material found in Breath of the Wild. They can be rarely found in forested areas across Hyrule, but mainly in the Necluda and Lanayru regions. A cluster of this plant can be found in the forest area surrounding the Great Fairy Fountain next to Kakariko Village. There are is another cluster, near the peak just northwest of this Fairy Fountain. Elsewhere, there are also a large amount of Blue Nightshades near the small ponds, just east of the Farosh Hills, in the Lake region.

This plant glows in the dark, making them much easier to pin-point during the nighttime. They can be sold to shop-vendors all over Hyrule for 4 Rupees each. Blue Nighshades can be used in a variety of Recipes, and they have an extra cooking effect of increased stealth. Blue Nightshades can also be used to create Blue Dye at the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village.

Cooking

The Blue Nightshade can be cooked alongside other Food to give it a stealth boost. If cooked alongside an Apple or other fruit, Link can create some Sneaky Steamed Fruit. If it is cooked alongside Raw Meat, Link can cook a Sneaky Steamed Meat dish. Both of these meals will replenish Link's health, while also give him a temporary stealth boost.

Enhancements

This material can be used to enhance Link's Armor in the game. In particular, Blue Nightshades can be used to enhance the Stealth Set.

The Level 1 upgrades of the Stealth Mask, Stealth Chest Guard, and Stealth Tights each require three Blue Nightshades. Additionally, the Level 2 upgrades of these armor pieces require five Blue Nightshades, as well as five Sunset Fireflys.
