The Big Catch Flag is an item in the Trading Sequence of The Wind Waker. It can be carried in the Delivery Bag.[1]

Link can first obtain it by trading a Sickle Moon Flag to the Traveling Merchant on Mother and Child Isles.[2] He also requires 85 Rupees to complete the transaction.[3] After this, the merchant and Link form a merchant's oath, where the merchant will then send Big Catch Flag to Zunari to sell at his shop.[4] When Link returns to Windfall Island, he can purchase a Big Catch Flag there for the same price.[5] Later, Link can also receive a Big Catch Flag from the same merchant in exchange for a Big Sale Flag,[6] or from the Bomb Island merchant for a Hero's Flag.[7] Both still require 85 Rupees.[8][9]

The Big Catch Flag can then be traded to one of the three merchants to receive new items. The Mother and Child Isles merchant will only give Link another Sickle Moon Flag in exchange, and he needs 40 Rupees.[10][11] However, on Bomb Island and Greatfish Isle, both merchants agree to give him a Fountain Idol, as long as Link pays 65 Rupees.[12][13][14][15]

When he isn't using it to proceed in the Trading Sequence, Link can place the Big Catch Flag in Joy Pedestals around Windfall Island.[1]
