The Ball and Chain is the main dungeon item of Snowpeak Ruins, the fifth dungeon from Twilight Princess. It is used to break ice found throughout the dungeon as well as the land of Hyrule. The Ball and chain is required to defeat certain enemies such as freezards and Blizzeta. It also makes defeating Chillfos much easier.
The Ball and Chain is acquired after Link defeats the Mini boss, Darkhammer. In the battle, he uses it against Link. The player must dodge the Ball and Chain by using the Clawshot to grapple to the panels on the roof. Then, run over and whack Darkhammer's exposed tail.
