The Ancient Wood is the second of the Essences of Time found within Oracle of Ages. The Ancient Wood is located within Wing Dungeon and it is acquired after Link has defeated Head Thwomp.

After exiting the Wing Dungeon, Link is contacted by the Maku Tree. The Ancient Wood has caused the Maku Tree to hear the next essence along the south sea's on Crescent Island.
