The Amber Relic is a material acquired in Skyward Sword. You can use the Amber Relic to upgrade your items at the Bazaar.
For example:
If you use two Amber Relics, one Monster Claw, and one Jelly Blob, you can turn your Wooden Shield into a Banded Shield!
