Link first encounters an Aeralfos as the miniboss of the City in the Sky. He must use his Clawshot on its shield to pull it down, then slash at it. Defeating this first Aeralfos allows Link to collect a second Clawshot.
Aeralfos also appear in the Cave of Ordeals and in Hyrule Castle. They often come in groups.
