January

• 30th - A Link to the Past was re-released on the Virtual Console for the Nintendo Wii U in North America.

February

• 12th - A Link to the Past was re-released on the Virtual Console for the Nintendo Wii U in Japan.

April

• 24th - Famicom Remix 2, incorporating challenges based on The Adventure of Link, was released on the Wii U eShop in Japan.
  • A compilation of both Famicom Remix games, Famicom Remix 1+2, was also released in Japan on the same day.

• 25th - NES Remix 2, the western counterpart to Famicom Remix 2, was released in the Americas, Europe and Australia.

• 30th - The Minish Cap was re-released on the Virtual Console for the Nintendo Wii U in Japan.

• 29th - The Minish Cap was re-released on the Virtual Console for the Nintendo Wii U in Europe.

June

• 10th - Zelda Wii U was introduced (but not named) at E3 with a scenery view and a brief action movie.

August

• 14th - Hyrule Warriors was released for the Nintendo Wii U in Japan.

September

• 13th - Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS was released in Japan.

• 19th - Hyrule Warriors was released for the Nintendo Wii U in Europe.

• 26th - Hyrule Warriors was released for the Nintendo Wii U in North America.

• 3rd - Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS was released in North America and Europe.

• 4th - Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS was released in Australia.

November

• 5th - Majora's Mask 3D was announced in a Nintendo Direct.

• 7th - Ultimate NES Remix, a "best of" compilation of NES Remix and NES Remix 2 - and so incorporating challenges from The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link - was released in Europe on Nintendo 3DS

• 13th - Mario Kart 8 received a DLC update, which included Link as a racer and a Zelda-themed course, Hyrule Circuit.

• 21st - Super Smash Bros. for Wii U was released in North America.

• 5th - Nintendo showed the first gameplay demo for Zelda Wii U at The Game Awards.

• 5th - NES Remix Pack for Wii U and Ultimate NES Remix for Nintendo 3DS were released in the USA.
