Yiga Spies are characters in Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity. They are members of the Yiga Clan who hide amongst the Sheikah Tribe in order to gather intelligence.

Breath of the Wild

"The Yiga Clan installed spies in Kakariko Village in order to try and learn the whereabouts of the hero. One of the spies fell in love and started a family with a woman there. The Yiga Clan does not tolerate defection and assassinated his wife. He is forced to continue spying for the Yiga Clan under the threat that they may harm his children."

Multiple Yiga Spies were sent to live in Kakariko Village to try and uncover the location of Link. One spy, Dorian, met and married a local Sheikah woman, having two daughters with her. To keep him in check, the Yiga Clan executed his wife, threatening that Impa, Paya and his children would be next if he did not comply. As such, upon Link's first meeting with Impa, Yiga Footsoldiers begin to appear in disguise around Hyrule, having been tipped off by the agents in Kakariko. Later on, a Yiga Blademaster steals the Sheikah Heirloom to draw out Dorian, his usefulness having come to an end. This assassination attempt was thwarted by Link, who then learns about Dorian's antagonistic past. From that point, Dorian decides to fully swear his allegiance to the Sheikah Tribe. It isn't known which other Kakariko Villagers are spies of the Yiga, though the villagers are wary of them. Olkin jokingly suggested that Link was one on their first visit, and the villagers are distrustful of Pikango, who had not lived in Kakariko for many decades. Ultimately, however, all save Dorian remain unidentified.

Age of Calamity

The Yiga Clan were aware that Robbie was recruiting many Sheikah as researchers, so they had some incognito Yiga Spies join the research effort to keep tabs. They remained undetected until Purah and Robbie had extracted and transferred vital information from Terrako onto the Sheikah Slate. Two spies then held Vicious Sickles to their throats, whilst a third kept the other researchers at bay. At this time, they were wearing a combination of the traditional Sheikah garb and a Yiga mask, showing that, as fellow Sheikah, they didn't need to use a magic disguise in order to blend in. By throwing the Sheikah Slate for Terrako to catch, Purah distracted the Yiga Spies long enough for both her and Robbie to escape.
