The Hyrule Castle Walkthrough is a full guide for both getting to and completing the Hyrule Castle dungeon featured in Echoes of Wisdom. This includes navigating the dungeon, opening all chests, and taking on the dungeon boss, Ganon.

Entering Hyrule Castle

  • After completing both the Jabul Ruins and Gerudo Sanctum, return to Lueburry's House. Shortly after arriving, General Wright will storm out, with Minister Lefte following behind as they head back to Hyrule Castle.
  • Zelda can then head north from Lueburry's House towards Hyrule Castle. Once she gets near Hyrule Castle Town, she will find General Wright, Minister Lefte, and a number of Guards.
  • The rift surrounding Castle Town will expand, swallowing up some residents and causing monsters to appear.
  • Inside Castle Town, head to the left and jump down to get into the Bottom of the Well.
  • Inside the well, Zelda can create a portal to reach the Still World. After exiting the building, Zelda will find herself within the Stilled Hyrule Castle Town.
  • Zelda can make her way through the Still World, which is littered with dark enemies. Towards the northwest part of the area, Zelda will reach a Waypoint. She can pull up a treasure chest here to get 7 portions of Radiant Butter.
  • Further to the left, Zelda can climb up and use a Flying Tile Echo to reach a chest further to the left, that contains 20 rupees.
  • Zelda will then need to navigate to the north end of the Still World, swimming up ponds of water to eventually reach Hyrule Castle.

Hyrule Castle Stealth

  • Once inside Hyrule Castle, head up and fight the Darknut Lv. 2. Continue up to the Throne Room to find the stilled King of Hyrule. Move the throne to find a ladder and head down.
  • After traveling through the underground area, use Bind to pull the wall to find yourself in an area filled with guards.
  • In this stealth area, Zelda will need to sneak by the first set of guards without being noticed. If at any point Zelda gets caught, she'll be drawn through a portal into a small room, where she must fight off some dark enemies before a warp opens to return her to the start of the section. If she is caught multiple times in the same section, the warp will be open from the start subsequently.
  • Once Zelda reaches the Wooden Boxes, she'll need to move them, along with the Decorative Shrubs, using bind. Avoid being seen by the guard and climb the ladder where the Shrub was.
  • In the last area, Zelda can use Echoes to climb on top of the shelves and then use a Hyrule Castle Pot Echo to distract the last guard. Leap off the shelf and head right a screen.

Dungeon Map

  • Use Echoes to climb to the right to find a stilled Impa. Continue to the right and head down the ladder where you'll need to fight a series of Darknuts.
  • In the next area, defeat the enemies and open the three chests to get 2 Twisted Pumpkins, 5 jars of Floral Nectar, and a Monster Stone.
  • After resurfacing, you'll be in a room with a number of unlit torches. Use an Ignizol Echo and charge it up by holding the button down. Use it to light the torch that is beyond the gate.
  • At the bottom-right, use an Ignizol Echo to spawn an Ignizol in the corner. Then use Bind to grab it and carry it over to the torch at the top-right.
  • Light the remaining two torches and head up a screen.
  • Use Bind and drop the first two Gustmasters into the abyss. Zelda can then jump and use the wind from the next Gustmaster to reach the higher ledge. Alternatively, she can toss this one into the abyss and just use echoes to climb up.
  • Walk to the right a screen and use a Wind Cannon to clear the sand. Open the chest that is hidden to find the Dungeon Map.
  • After getting the Dungeon Map, head back left a screen and use Echoes to reach the far north end of the room. Continue onward to the next screen.

Small Key

  • After activating the Waypoint, head through the door to the left and defeat the Dark Tektites. Use echoes or swim across the north end of the water and head down the ladder in the middle of the room.
  • Navigate the underwater area, using air bubble to breath and the blue coral to light up the area around you. Zelda can use the dungeon map to find the locations of two treasure chests and the path to reach the northwest corner of the room. The chest in the middle contains a red rupee, with the chest at the southwest containing a silver rupee.
  • Patiently avoid the guards and make your way to the east end of the room. Climb the ladder and then use an echo to step on the switch on the pillar.
  • Zelda can use a flying echo such as a Mothula Echo to glide down and open the chest to get a small key.
  • At this point Zelda can either backtrack to the right two screens, or simply warp to the Waypoint that she previously activated.

Big Key

  • From the Waypoint in front of the large locked door, head right a screen. Walk to the bottom of the screen and drop down, heading through the locked door.
  • Make your way past the first Gustmaster and reach the next one. Climb down the wall and make a Strandtula Echo, then grab onto its spiderweb. Creature a series of these, heading to the right along the narrow strings. Make another one on the right and then climb all the way up the ladders and exit the area.
  • Head up to confront a pair of Darknuts and a Ball-and-Chain Trooper. Use an echo, such as a Darknut Lv. 2 Echo, to deal damage to the Darknuts. Zelda can also use a Darknut Echo to distract the Ball-and-Chain Trooper. While he's distracted, Zelda can use the rocks that are in the room to throw them at the enemy.
  • Once defeated, head up a screen and open the chests to get the Big Key, a Golden Egg, and the Frog Ring. The Frog Ring in particular is an especially useful accessory, as it allows Zelda to jump higher.
  • Go back down a screen and left a screen and you'll notice a suspicious wall to the north. Use a Bombfish Echo to blast a hole in the wall. Then use an echo and jump through to reach a chest that has 50 rupees. Exit the room and head back left a screen, using the Big Key on the locked door.

Ganon

  • After heading through the big locked door, Zelda will confront some of the Echoes from Hyrule Castle, before they cause Ganon to appear, which Tri recognises as an echo.
  • The battle with Ganon is similar to the one at the very start of the game, except Zelda isn't nearly as powered up as Link was.
  • During the first phase, Ganon will attack Zelda with his Trident. Simply move out of the way, which leaves Ganon vulnerable for a moment. Zelda can use an echo or Swordfighter Form to deal damage.
  • After enough hits have been made on Ganon, the second phase will begin. During this phase, Ganon will toss his Trident and then warp to another location in the room, before the Trident returns to him. Zelda can attack Ganon after he warps and before the Tridents returns.
  • During this second phase, Ganon will also summon Blazing Bats, which when they hit the wall, will break, allowing Zelda to fill her Energy Gauge.
  • After enough hits the final phase will commence. In this phase, Ganon will toss a large energy ball towards Zelda. Zelda, using Swordfighter Form can use the sword to hit the orb back at Ganon. After playing a game of Dead Man's Volley back and forth a few times, the ball will hit Ganon and stun him. At this point Zelda can deal some damage.
  • Repeat this process until Ganon has been defeated. The rift has been mended; and Zelda will earn five Might Crystals and a Heart Container.
