The Eternal Forest Walkthrough is a full guide for reaching and navigating through the Eternal Forest, navigating Holy Mount Lanayru, and entering Null's Body.

Hyrule Castle

  • After completing the Eldin Temple, Faron Temple, and Lanayru Temple, a void will appear that temporarily sucks Zelda in. After spitting Zelda out, an echo of Zelda will appear. After copying the sanctions of the goddesses, the echo believes it can approach the Prime Energy. Before the echo can do anything more to Zelda, Tri will warp them out of harm's way, back to Hyrule Castle.
  • Zelda will come to in her bed, with Impa and the King of Hyrule nearby. The King will tell Zelda to visit the ancient forest with a sacred tree, which Impa clarifies as being the Eternal Forest. The Forest is located northwest of Hyrule Castle. This will begin the main quest, The Prime Energy and Null.
  • As soon as Zelda leaves her room, General Wright will appear, saying that he and the guards will clear the way and allow safe passage to the Eternal Forest.

Getting the Lynel Echo

  • While completely optional, finding the Lynel and learning the Lynel Echo will be valuable in the late game and is worth getting. To reach the Eternal Forest, head north of Hyrule Castle, just as you previously did when climbing up to Hebra Mountain. Take the path that turns to the west and enters the Eternal Forest.
  • If you haven't already, travel to the northwestern corner of the Eternal Forest, where you'll find a large Sword Moblin Lv. 3. This massive enemy can be taken down with numerous echoes and will make defeating the Lynel a lot easier.
  • Just south of the Waypoint that is in the Eternal Forest, if you look at the ground, you'll find markings on the floor, which are left from the hooves of the Lynel.
  • Follow this pathway to the west, south, and then back east. The path eventually turns north and ends at the northeast part of the Eternal Forest where the Lynel can be found. The Lynel won't be here unless you specifically follow the path that is left by the hooves of the Lynel.
  • Use the Sword Moblin Lv. 3 Echo and keep your distance from the Lynel. The spin attack by the Lynel may defeat the Moblin immediately, but she can keep respawning it to defeat it. The Lynel Echo costs all six triangles that Tri has (five if Tri is now Lv. 11 from mending all the other rifts), so even if you acquired it earlier, you wouldn't be able to use it until the late game.

Eternal Forest Orbs

  • After arriving at the Eternal Forest, head to the north end to find General Wright and the guards out cold on the ground. When Zelda wakes them up, they are initially upset with her, until Zelda explains that it was an echo of Zelda that they previously encountered.
  • Examine the stone monument ahead and it will rise up, showing six circles within it. An Ancient Orb will appear next to it, which Zelda can learn the Ancient Orb Echo from.
  • Bind the Ancient Orb and place it on the pedestal. This will cause the circle at the top of the monument to light up.
  • There are six total pedestals in the Eternal Forest, which are laid out in the shape of a large equilateral triangle, with a smaller, upside-down triangle formed from joining the mid-point of all three sides. The one Zelda just put the Orb into is the "top", northmost, point.
  • Make your way around the Eternal Forest and use Ancient Orb Echoes to place them onto all the pedestals. The one on the middle-left requires Zelda to first defeat the Deku Baba.
  • After orbs are placed on all six pedestals, return to the stone monument and examine it. It will glow with a triangular symbol and reveal a path. Run on forward to head deeper into the forest, leaving the General and his troops behind.

Stilled Ancient Ruins

  • Zelda can run forward where she will meet the Deku Tree, who has long watched over and protected the forest, but who was tricked by the Zelda Echo. He will open an elevator that leads down to the Ancient Ruins.
  • Inside Zelda will find the Echo of Zelda, trying to acquire the Prime Energy, three sacred triangles floating above the altar. The prime energy will split into three, with Zelda receiving one piece, the echo of Zelda receiving another, and a third heading through a portal.
  • Zelda can enter the portal to find herself within the Stilled Ancient Ruins. This area has a combination of enemies and obstacles that Zelda has seen throughout previous areas of the Still World.
  • Travel north, using various echoes to navigate the area. Make your way beyond the water and ice regions, and eventually head east to reach a fire area. Use a Mothula Echo to fly along the updrafts to continue northward.
  • Continue to head north until you reach the echo of Zelda; they are looking at Link, who is trapped in a crystal, realising that Link has the third piece of the Prime Energy.
  • This will commence a battle with the echo of Zelda, who will warp around the area, floating high above. The echo of Zelda will summon a variety of dark echoes to attack Zelda. It is recommended to use the Lynel Echo during this battle, to take care of the dark enemies. Zelda can then use Swordfighter Form and shoot arrows at the echo of Zelda.
  • After enough hits, the echo will fall to the ground and Zelda and the Lynel Echo can make direct hits with the Sword of Might.
  • That is basically all there is to this battle. The Echo of Zelda has quite a bit of health, so it will take time to wind that down, depending on Zelda's attack power for her Sword and Arrows.
  • After defeating the echo of Zelda, use an Arrow to break the crystal that Link is stuck in. This will complete the Rescuing the Hero Link quest and Zelda will give Link back his weapons, meaning she can no longer use Swordfighter Form. Link will then cut a hole in the space above, which he and Zelda can enter, to reach Null's Body.
    • Note that this is the last point you can save the game. On entering Null's Body, the save option is disabled, and the game will reset to the point immediately before Zelda gives up the weapons of might when reopened.
