Palimer or more commonly palimer6 is a Marathon chat regular of some notoriety.
History
I originally found ZeldaDungeon through the YouTube channel around 2011/2012-ish, watching Caleb's and Mases' Walkthroughs as well as the Mailbags.
I must've then found out about the Marathon through an announcement video.
I've been watching the marathon every year since 2013 and usually dipped from the community other times of the year. This has led to Josh reacting with shock, that I, in fact, exist outside of the Marathon.
After ZD Marathon 2022, I decided to finally write an application and joined the staff on 2022-10-27.
Information
My first Zelda was Phantom Hourglass which my cousin bought me for Christmas 2007. Afterwards I continued playing the whole series over the years.
My favorite Zelda as of the writing of this line is A Link Between Worlds.
I also speedrun PH.
This started during ZD Marathon 2017, where I decided on a whim to run along, because I know the game very well. Without prior practice, I managed to beat Katie's 5:40:50 with a 5:27:18 (this was because I fell behind and decided to get the frog compass, which cuts so much time). I then started actually studying the route and doing some more runs. I have been running the game along with the marathon in every year since. My current official time is 3:57:55.
Other games
Some of my favorite series include Zelda, Monster Hunter, Mega Man, Metroid, Pokémon, Hollow Knight (which will be a series once Silksong comes out).
Trivia
- I could have gotten into the series earlier, but my brothers tried out Link's Awakening, hit the Cucco, died, and decided the game sucked.
- I donate the name "12pizzas" for one filename every marathon.
- I lent my original copy of PH to my friend years ago, who lost it. I had him buy me a new one, lol.
