Echoes of Wisdom

"Tri loaned you this mystical rod. With its power, you can echo things you've learned."

Echoes of Wisdom in-game description

The Tri Rod is given to Zelda by Tri to help her escape Hyrule Castle. It allows her to create echoes of objects previously scanned in the world, as well as versions of defeated enemies to fight on her behalf. Each echo will consume one of the ▼ (triangles) that Tri possess for as long as it exists. Tri initially possess only three ▼, though that number increases as Tri levels up by finding more of their friends in rifts and dungeons, with new ▼ added at levels 2, 6 and 9; while Zelda can begin to summon echoes from a distance at level 3, and the other levels reduce the cost of batches of enemy echoes by 1▼.

During the A Rift in the Faron Wetlands Main Quest, the Tri Rod (and Zelda's other items) are taken by a group of Deku Scrubs angry at Zelda and Tri closing the Stilled Blossu's House rift and thus depriving them of a source of "Cotton Candy". When they find the Scrub who has it, they're using it as a cotton candy stick, much to Tri's displeasure, and it is said to be sticky with residue when they take it back.

Ending

Spoiler Alert! This section describes a subject that is sensitive to plot development.

When Tri returns with their friends to the goddesses "to slumber", they leave the Tri Rod to Zelda as an apparent memento. It is shown in a post-credits scene with Zelda's Cat that Zelda has had it framed and hung on the wall of her room.
