The Castle Courtyard is a garden in Hyrule Castle where Princess Zelda spends her time, and is where Link first meet her and talks to her. When Link has sneaked past the guards, he will go into the courtyard, and introduce himself, and Zelda introduces herself too. Zelda tells Link that she dreamt of dark clouds covering the sky and a light shot out of the forest, a figure appeared, holding a stone, followed by a fairy. Zelda knows that Link is the one from her dream, and the one who will save Hyrule. A few minutes later, she will tell a story about the Golden Goddesses. After, Zelda will ask Link if he wants to look into the window, and if he does, he will see Ganondorf, whom Zelda believes is the one who will conquer Hyrule. Zelda bestows her letter with her autograph signed on it upon Link in order for him to show it to the guard guarding the Death Mountain Trail in Kakariko Village. Impa waits for Link after talking to Zelda, and when he walks to her, she will teach Link Zelda's Lullaby.
