How to Get It
First of all, Link needs two hundred Rupees, which can only be held with the Adult's Wallet. Once Link has these things, he can head to Goron City. Once he enters he can down to the second level where there are some bombable walls. Blow them up with the Bomb Flowers close by, or Link's own bombs. He will then find a Goron called Medigoron selling the Giant's Knife. If Link purchases the item, he willl discover that it uses two hands, so he can't use his shield. In addition, it will break after hitting an enemy or the wall a few times. The Biggoron's Sword will later replace the Giant's Knife. It has all of the same abilities but it will not break.

To get the Giant's Knife, Link must go to the second section where stone walls blocks the way, he has to either blow them up with the Bomb Flowers or with his own Bombs. When Link gets there, he can talk to Medigoron and he says that he has finished his small word.
As child, he said it would take 5-6 years to make it, but it is completely useless. Link purchases the sword for 200 Rupees,
and after hitting it on walls or other objects after 8 hits, it will break and make it the Broken Giant's Knife.
When wielding it, Link cannot use his shield but can only bend down. After completing the Trading Sequence, Link will be rewarded
with the Biggoron's Sword replacing the Giant's Knife. It has the same abilities but it will not break.
