Skyward Sword Glitches
Listed below are some game glitches or tricks that have unusual effects on your game.
Golo the Goron Game-Ending Glitch
When starting the Song of the Hero quest, if Link completes the Thunder Dragon portion of the song first and then speaks with Golo the Goron, this will initiate the game-ending glitch. Afterwards when Link enters the Eldin and Faron regions, the necessary cut-scenes will not take place and you won't be able to complete the quest. Nintendo has since addressed this issue and Nintendo of America put out this press release.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was released for Nintendo Wii on November 20, 2011. It has since come to our attention that if a specific sequence of actions are performed when completing the Song of the Hero quest, further progress in the game can't be made. This prevents the player from being able to complete the game.
The following provides information on how to prevent this from occurring, and how to resolve the situation if it has occurred. We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience caused by this issue.
How to prevent this situation from occurring: To complete the Song of the Hero quest, the player must visit three different locations to collect three dragon songs. To prevent the situation where the game can no longer be completed from happening:
If the Thunder Dragon's Song from the Lanayru Desert has already been collected first, do not talk to a Goron named Golo until the other songs have been collected. (Golo is found at the entrance to Lanayru Mine.)
What prevents the game from being completed? In the quest for the Song of the Hero, if the Thunder Dragon Song in the Lanayru Desert is collected first and Golo the Goron is spoken to before the other songs are collected, the cut scenes that start the sequences to get the songs in the other areas won't occur. This prevents being able to make any further progress in the game.
What to do if you are experiencing this situation: If you are experiencing this situation, we are able to repair your saved data. For information on how to send your save data to Nintendo, please call 1-800-255-3700.
We are also planning on releasing a program that will repair save data for those who have their Wii connected to the Internet. We are currently working on preparations for the release of this program. Information on how to download and use it will be made available through support.nintendo.com once the program is ready for release.
Pirate Stronghold Timeshift Orb
This glitch takes place at the Pirate Stronghold mini-dungeon within the Lanayru Sand Sea. When transporting the Timeshift Stone in the room with the Ancient Flowers, the one with the pillars you have to hop across, if you toss the orb onto a pillar in the middle of the room and than jump off the pillar you get stuck. You won't be able to reach the orb and you'll have to leave the mini-dungeon and renter to progress.
