The Power Crouch Stab is a type of attack featured within Ocarina of Time. In order to perform the glitch, Link must have both a Sword and a Shield. The glitch can be performed when Link is a Child or an Adult.
How-To Perform
The normal Crouch Stab is performed when Link holds out his shield by pressing 'R' and then uses his Sword by pressing 'B'. Link will deliver a quick straight forward stab. However, unlike most of Link's other attacks in the game, a specific attack value was not given to the crouch stab. For example, a standard sword strike with the Kokiri Sword does 1HP of damage. A jump attack with the Kokoiri Sword does 2HP of damage, while a jump attack with a Deku Stick does 4HP of damage. For the crouch stab attack, no particular damage is assigned to it.
Uses
The power of the attack of the crouch stab is dependent on Link's previous attack. Whatever the attack value of Link's previous attack, the crouch stab will do that exact same amount of damage. So if Link just swiped his Kokiri Sword and then performed a crouch stab, the stab would deliver just 1HP of damage. However, if Link followed a jumping Deku Stick attack with a crouch stab, that stab attack would deliver 4HP of damage.
The Power Crouch Stab can be used alongside the Infinite Sword Glitch, which in turn can lead to further glitches within the game.
