Ocarina of Time Cucco Locations
In Ocarina of Time, Link is able to acquire an Empty Bottle by helping out the Cucco Lady by returning all seven of the Cuccos to the pen.
In Kakariko Village during the daytime, speak to the woman who is closest to the Kakariko Village Graveyard. She is holding her head, concerned that her Cuccos have flown away and asks Link to bring them back to the pen.[1] After bringing one Cucco back and tossing it in the pen, you can speak with her and she'll update you on how many of them are remaining.[2][3][4][5][6][7]
The seven cuccos are scattered across the village and some of them are rather difficult to reach. Also, for this quest, try not to harm them too much with any of your weapons, otherwise they'll pronounce a war cry of a cockle-doodle-doo and reign doom down upon you until you either leave the area or die.
Locations
Of the seven Cuccos, five of them are located in the main part of Kakariko Village and are very easy to reach. However, there are two particular Cuccos that are located at the northeast portion of the village, which as a child, is fenced off and a bit difficult to reach. There are two different ways to reach the secret area at the northeast part of town.
Reaching the Northeast Corner
Trick #1: Grab a Cucco and walk up the ramp that leads to the entrance of the windmill. While holding a Cucco, leap off the ledge at an angle so you land on the skinny looking fence on the left.
Trick #2: Climb up on top of the lookout tower near the center of town. Hold Z (or L on the Nintendo 3DS version), while facing the center of the village. Hold to the left and perform a side jump. You'll leap off the tower and land on top of a fence. From here you can jump down into the "secret area".
The Seven Cuccos
Location #1: Between the Cucco Lady and the entrance to the Graveyard. Simple.
Location #2: On the ledge next to the Skulltula House in the center of the village. Either use another chicken and jump off the higher ledge of the unfinished building to float over to it, shoot it with your Slingshot, or use a Deku Nut. If you do either of the latter, chase it down and grab it.
Location #3: At the entrance to the village.
Location #4: There is a crate near the stairs leading up towards the upper area of Kakariko Village. Roll into it to reveal a Cucco spy, the fiend!
Location #5: Right in front of the guard at the entrance to the Death Mountain Trail, there is a Cucco near the ramp.
Location #6: This one is in the lower part of the secret area at the northeast part of town, near a hole. Be careful not to fall in, though! Throw this one over the fence and go get the next Cucco first.
Location #7: For the last one, once you get into the secret area at the northeast part of town, climb up the ladder and grab the unsuspecting Cucco. You can fly all the way back to the Cucco Lady with this one.
Rewards
Once you've finally gathered them all and put them in the pen, speak with the Cucco Lady to receive an Empty Bottle as a reward. She explains that she couldn't retrieve them herself, due to the allergies that she has.[8] If you leave Kakariko Village and return, the Cuccos will once again scatter about. You can retrieve them again, and this time the Cucco Lady will reward you with a Purple Rupee.[9]
