Molo

Molo is a character in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

Molo is a Hylian who can be found at the Woodland Stable. During the day he walks out onto the patio of the stable where he sits down to have a drink. He's contemplating what he wants to do.[1][2][3] He wonders about going to Hyrule Castle as he has heard that it is full of abandoned treasure and weapons. They are ripe for the taking, but he worries about the monsters that surround the castle.[4]

If Link encourages Molo to go for it, he agrees with him, thinking that he can't let a smoking-hot rumor like this go to waste. He mentions that the Docks on the north side of the Castle are a good way to sneak inside. He also mentions that there is an ancient Shrine somewhere within the castle.[5] Even if Link encourages Molo to take it easy, he still will talk about the treasure in the castle.[6]

Tears of the Kingdom

Molo can still be found at the Woodland Stable in Tears of the Kingdom. He is sitting in front of a large tree, and will be angry at Link if spoken to late at night. Molo is contemplating whether to take the dull 'n' drab Woodland Stable route, or the red-hot Foothill Stable route.[7] The former is an old, dangerous road, while the latter is a new road created by the cooled lava from Death Mountain while it was active. He doesn't think his muscles are ready to deal with the heat, so he isn't sure what to do.[8][9]

  4. Listen, if you wanna get anywhere in this life, you gotta have cash and cachet. And the only way to do that in this day an age is to go to-stay with me here- Hyrule Castle. I know-it sounds crazy. But rumor has it that it's full of abandoned treasure and weapons! They're just sitting in there, free for the taking! Well...if you can get past all of the bloodthirsty monsters, of course. - Molo
  5. You're right! I can't let a smoking-hot rumor like this go to waste! I just gotta act on it, bud! There's a docks on the north side of Hyrule Castle, see, and I hear you can get inside the castle from there. There's also an ancient shrine somewhere around there. Smells like treasure to me. Stinks like it, even! Of course, no one I know who's gone to Hyrule Castle has come back. Probably because they're too busy being rich! I just need to come up with a solid plan. Then I'll be living the good life! - Molo

  7. "How's a guy supposed to pick a path to Death Mountain? A trek up a mountain should be a red-hot adventure." — Molo, Tears of the Kingdom
  8. "What's that? Did the fiery passion of my monologue catch your ear? Well, red hot is as red hot does, my friend. So a while back, Death Mountain was super active—we're talking full-force, non-stop, red-hot lava. But now the lava's all cooled down and hardened. It's even—ugh, I hate to say it—made a new road that's easy to walk! And ease, my friend, is the opposite of the "red hot" lifestyle. Now the route going up Death Mountain from Foothill Stable to the east, on the other hand... That's an old, dangerous road absolutely crawling with monsters. That's what I call RED HOT! But, uh...my muscles aren't exactly ready to take the heat right now, so that makes my decision more complicated." — Molo, Tears of the Kingdom
  9. "The lava around here has completely cooled, so the Woodland Stable route lacks the fiery passion I crave. Maybe I should take the monster-laden Foothill Stable route to the east, just to give my journey a little more spice... I'm, uh...just not sure my muscles are quite ready to feel the burn. This is a tough call to make!" — Molo, Tears of the Kingdom
