Link's Horse is a special mid-tier horse type in Breath of the Wild.

Breath of the Wild

"Link's Horse" is the horse that Link rides on flashbacks and memories, and it's considered Link's in-game default horse.

First appearing in the E3 2014 trailer for the game, Link is shown riding the horse while escaping a Guardian Stalker, and later jumping from it to shoot the Guardian with an Ancient Arrow.

The horse appears in To Mount Lanayru alongside the White Horse, the latter which Zelda is riding. It can be found in a multitude of herds in the game, particularly on Type 3 Herds. It will not appear with high-tiered herds

The horse, dark brown with black mane and white legs, has unique statistics among all horses though it's a mid-tier horse. Unlike other special horses, Link's Horse doesn't have its own entry at the Hyrule Compendium, but it's the horse depicted in the default Horse entry picture. When encountered, it may have various lengths of mane, but the same color patterns.

Should the player not have a horse registered at a stable at all, or no registered horses taken (all boarded), Link's Horse will be the horse that Link rides during the fight against Dark Beast Ganon, both bridled and saddled regardless of registration.

After defeating Dark Beast Ganon, the horse will NOT appear as registered in a stable if it hadn't been registered before. Just like with all other horses, tracking and taming the horse is required for Link to keep it.
