Dazzle Lyphos

Dazzle Lyphos is a character from Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland.

Overview

Dazzle Lyphos is the town hero of Port Town. He fought to protect the town from enemiees and died in action. While he was thought to be a hero, he never did anything for free, always requiring rupees to perform his guard duties. Rumor has it he hid his treasure somewhere near the town, and that a fairy must show the location of the treasure.[1] The Town Hero's Statue was constructed for Dazzle Lyphos and sits in Hometown Prairie, just northwest of town. Armourer, a citizen of Port Town seems to criticize the statue, saying the craftsmanship of the statue is a bit poor and not accurate. He comments that the statue shows Dazzle Lyphos holding the legendary weapon, the Lyphos Sword.

Beneath the statue of Dazzle Lyphos is a hidden underground cavern, leading to the Hero's Shrine, the first dungeon of the game.

  1. Dazzle Lyphos is this town's hero. You don't know him?! There's a statue of him north of the town. To protect the town from its enemies he fought... ...and died... Truly heroic, right? He was a real man! But actually... Lyphos never fought for free... He always wanted rupees... Like the bodyguards you get these days... I heard he hid the rupees he earned near the town... Legend has it a fairy must show you where his treasure is. Nonsense, of course! The sword the statue is holding is meant to be the hero's legendary weapon, the Lyphos Sword but the fingerguard width is a little narrow and the blade's angle is a little too wide... There is also one too many lines carved into the hilt! It is clear that the person who made the statue did not do his homework! I'm sorry... I forgot not everyone finds this stuff as interesting as I do." - Armourer, Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland
