Many of you may have seen a similar layout change roughly a month ago at Gamnesia, but we have now brought on the massive changes to Zelda Informer. Just like it was for our other site, the big difference in this layout is that it supports mobile browsing, and given the large percentage of our viewers that prefer to view us that way, we are just happy to support it. We are still working on our Walkthrough pages and how to get them formatted and converted, so for now they are still in our old style. Of course, as with any major change, there is usually a bevy of promises to be made, but this time around I think I am going to forgo that. Instead, I invite you to see what we plan to do next.

You see, Zelda Informer is a website going through a big transition right now. We recently completed a staff split from Gamnesia so we could go back to finding our own identity. That doesn’t mean you won’t see a few familiar faces at both sites (myself included), but ZI is now free to operate away from the confines of another website. Essentially, we’re back to being us, the type of site you came to know and love 2 or even 3 years ago. With an intense focus on Zelda Content, we hope to give you even better coverage then before – but see, it is a hope, not inherently a reality, because with such a major change comes a major mentality shift, and as such, it means after not really looking for ZI specific staff for over a year, we need the team to pull off the ambitions we are aiming for.

We currently have a handful of passionate and dedicated writers, but that simply won’t due for the high goals we have for ourselves. Here is just a small peak into our check list for 2014:

  • Have a full textual guide for at least half of the current Zelda games
  • Editorial content, with a strong focus on brand new theories.
  • Aim to not only be the best Zelda News site in terms of delivering the news as fast as we can, but to reestablish ourselves as the standard in the whole community.

Of course, none of this means that this is the only things we are doing. As an example, we are close to completing and releasing a 100% video guide walkthrough for A Link Between Worlds with a direct feed. That’s right, we invested into proper equipment to legally record and capture 3DS games, for the sole purpose of providing you the best content we can. As I said though, I am not here to make you promises. Too often they are made and rarely fullfilled only to be replaced with new promises. What I can do, however, is try to drum up the team necessarily to meat our goals – try, not inherently accomplish. With those 3 main goals in mind, we are indeed looking to hire a slew of writers – folks that are not only passionate about Zelda but passionate about writing. We all write for Zelda Informer out of our love and respect for the series – we don’t do it for monetary gains or because you might get to shake Eiji Aonuma’s hand (okay, that may actually be a real thing, but that’s not why we do this).

We find that Zelda Informer is at it’s best when the people contributing to it are passionate about their work almost to a fault. As such, we are looking for anyone passionate about writing and Zelda to apply for the following three positions:

  • Walkthrough Writer: Responsible for crafting our textual walkthroughs for various games.
  • Walkthrough Editor: Responsible for helping format our textual guides to have the best presentation possible.
  • Writer: Responsible for not only writing news, but crafting editorials that provoke thought and conversations with our fellow fans.

You can apply by sending an email to nathan@zeldadungeon.net with the subject line that states the position you are applying for. In addition, we would love to know you’re age, experience, and reasoning for thinking you are made for the job.

Beyond that, we hope you enjoy our continual changes to your browing experience as we look to enhance your viewership of the content we provide. We want to give you folks, our fans, and fans of the Zelda series all across the world, the best site we can.
