The Legend of Zelda has spanned decades of video games, but it’s never received the big-screen treatment. In fact, unless you count the short-lived TV show that ran in 1989, the series hasn’t had a proper run on the small screen either. In the latest installment of Hyrule Compendium, Gooey and Mases cast their dream Zelda movie or TV show.

Mases states early on that a thirty-year-old shouldn’t be playing Link, and that all of the characters should remain fairly young. He also states that Link should be cast as an up-and-coming, unknown actor. The hosts also discuss if the actress that plays Zelda should have a British accent or not. Mases’ pick for Princess Zelda was Kiernan Shipka, who is best known for her roles in Mad Men and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. They also discuss who should play Ganondorf, and they agreed that he should be played by an older, more well-known actor like Liam Neeson or William Dafoe.

The hosts also cast an array of other characters from throughout the Zelda series and discuss why those actors would fit the roles. Should Majora’s Mask be solely played by Nicolas Cage? Should we just recast Uncut Gems with Zelda characters? The possibilities for casting a Zelda movie are endless, and it’s something everyone could talk about for a long time as they trying to choose the best actors for the job. What do you think? How would you cast a Legend of Zelda movie? Sound off in the comments below!
