CelloBassett recently uploaded his cover of “Prince of Darkness” from A Link to the Past to YouTube. The cello performance is done in a style similar to Smooth McGroove, in that multiple parts of the song are performed separately at different times than played over each other, which adds a layer of intrigue to the video. As for the quality of the song, it is clear that a lot of passion went into this cover faithful adaptation. The cello’s bass-y tone makes the song sound both more intense and ominous.
