Tis’ the season to experiment with monster-part recipes in Breath of the Wild. In the real world, monster parts and monster extract are not so easy to come by, but that doesn’t mean you can’t indulge in a good old bowl of Monster Soup. Content creator ChaosEmeraldStar has just the substitutes needed to whip up the soup in your own kitchen. His video not only shows step-by-step how to cook this dish, but features charming Zelda-inspired intro and outro clips.

Right off the bat, ChaosEmeraldStar rides a horse, takes his Master Sword to a handful of scenic landscapes, and gets some “monster extract” from a creepy merchant. Then he begins cooking the recipe which requires: a blender, one red cabbage, two red onions, three apples, salt, milk, vegetable stock, and balsamic vinegar. Follow these steps to make your very own Monster Soup:

  • Cut the ends off the onions, cut them down the middle, take off the skin, then slice thinly
  • Cut the ends off the red cabbage, cut it down the middle, then slice thinly
  • Put the red cabbage in a pot with some of the onion on top, cover and let it sit on medium heat
  • Core the apples, cut into small chunks, and add to the pot
  • Stir the pot and add the salt, milk, vegetable stock, and balsamic vinegar
  • Stir and keep on the flame until heated through (when everything is purple in the pot)
  • Pour all the contents into the blender, blend, return to pot, and heat to desired temperature
  • Adjust to taste (more apples or onions, add other spices or broth, etc.)
  • Pour into small bowl and garnish with a drizzle of sour cream

This was ChaosEmeraldStar’s second video in his Gaming Recipes series, the first one released just a few months ago in which he created a pizza inspired by Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 on the PlayStation. He also has videos up of his livestreams and skits made using plushies from Mario and Sonic

Do you think you will try to make this recipe before spooky season is out? Let us know in the comments!
