Watch as Calamity Ganon is Defeated in 11 Seconds

Speedrunning has become a popular pastime among Breath of the Wild players, but I’m sure you haven’t seen speed like that of Reddit user Master_t0rch! This Breath of the Wild champion recently shared about their swift victory over Calamity Ganon, as they took the boss down in only 11 seconds. And as we all know, nothing feels quite as good as demolishing a boss, especially one as large and as powerful as Calamity Ganon.

Master_t0rch’s strategy is extremely solid. They start by equipping the Fierce Deity set from Majora’s Mask, which increases the damage output by the user. Link’s attack power is bolstered further by an attack-up bonus meal. The player’s weapon of choice was the Savage Lynel bow which shoots multiple arrows at one time, and Master_t0rch opted to use Ancient Arrows to further the damage output.

As soon as the battle begins, the player freezes Ganon with a Stasis lock and propels themselves up into the air using a trick known as a “Skew Bounce;” by setting up this trick beforehand, Link is given enough air time to slow things down and get those shots as precise as possible. A normal jump doesn’t give Link enough height, so this trick is pretty important to get right.

It only takes five Ancient Arrow shots to fully extinguish Ganon’s health (which had already been halved due to the defeat of the four Divine Beasts prior to this final fight.) Usually once Ganon hits a certain amount of health the boss switches phases, but Master_t0rch is so quick that the game bypasses this all together! The whole battle lasts a mere 11 seconds, which an amazing feat for any gamer!
