Game design guru Marc Brown tackles A Link Between Worlds‘s dungeon set up in a new segment of his video series Boss Keys. Marc first analyzes the overworld of A Link Between Worlds before focusing on the dungeons, noting that the overworld and dungeon routes are much more open than in previous Zelda entries.

While many praised the game’s open design, Marc mentions that this openess actually makes the dungeon design suffer. He points out that items being available for rent actually takes the item, and therefore, a lot of the puzzle solving out of the dungeon. However he does mention that, despite this set back, A Link Between Worlds is still a game that feels good to play.
