When Nintendo announced that they were going to be releasing themes to customize our 3DS experience, I was overjoyed. I’m not the hardest person to excite when it comes to Nintendo, but something about the option to make the appearance of my handheld appeal to me specifically just feels…special. Since the idea was implemented, a handful of really cool themes have been made available for fans of the

Zelda series, but mostly reflected newer games in the franchise. However, the above video showcases two new themes that call back to the classic age where it all began. YouTuber NintenDaan released the above video footage of dynamic Legend of Zelda and Metroid themes, complete with music, scrolling background, sound effects, and a sprite projected on the bottom screen that “attacks” with every few selections with the movement controls.

Check out the short video above and let us know what you think of the new themes. Do they appeal to you or do you feel like there is too much happening on the home screen at this point? Sound off in the comments below and let us know what themes you want to see made available next.
