Do you need some more Zelda-themed instrumental rock in your life? Well “for the love of God,” check out this cover of “Ikana Castle” by musician Dinnick the 3rd! As the video’s description lays out, this cover was recorded as part of a tribute album titled Sunrise & Moonfall, covering music from Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask.

I really liked the aesthetic of the video, bringing about a late-80’s/early-90’s vibe, invoking music videos by Steve Vai. In the music, I can also hear Vai’s influence, with its healthy doses of vibrato alongside some slick slides. Bringing things full circle, Dinnick is using a Signature Model Steve Vai Ibanez Guitar! At one point he also uses an ocarina inspired by Majora’s Mask, which I thought was really cool. “Ikana Castle” is definitely one of the catchier tunes in Majora’s Mask for me, so I really enjoyed this cover.

If you’re looking for something that’s melodic but has an extra kick, definitely give the video a listen above. And tell us what you think in the comments below!
