We’ve seen a lot of Any% speedrunning records lately, a category that has runners completing the game as quickly as possible with no additional restrictions. Well, Any% is not the only speedrunning category. This last week saw a battle for the world record in the “All Dungeons” category of Twilight Princess. Ultimately speedrunner Giradam set the new All Dungeons record yesterday, completing all the game’s dungeons and finishing the game in three hours, 54 minutes, and 37 seconds.

The All Dungeons category in Twilight Princess has been very active in the last few days. On May 29th, speedrunner Rodner (who currently holds the TP Any% World Record) set a new All Dungeons record with a time of three hours, 58 minutes, and 46 seconds. As if that wasn’t enough, this runner set a new record on May 31st with a time of three hours, 57 minutes, and 39 seconds. Only a few hours after, runner Giradam bested this record by about three minutes, with the current world record time of three hours, 54 minutes, and 37 seconds. This category has seen a lot of action lately, as all these times bested Giradam’s previous record of 3:59:38, the first All Dungeons time under four hours. Rodner was playing the PAL GameCube version of the game, while Giradam was playing the USA GameCube version.

As one can guess, the “All Dungeons” category in Twilight Princess requires runners to finish every dungeon in the game and defeat the final boss. The route has runners completing temples somewhat out of order, as a series of sequence breaks allow runners to enter dungeons like Lakebed Temple and City in the Sky early. As with Any%, this route obviously employs glitches to complete the game, but completing all dungeons has runners completing more of the “intended” game.
