Tribute to Zelda by Indie Game Composers

Nintendo is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Legend of Zelda with the release of Skyward Sword and the orchestral concerts but now several composers from many other series such as Minecraft and Mass Effect have completed their own tribute to the anniversary of Zelda. The musical tribute titled 25 Year Legend is a free to download album consisting of various songs from throughout the Zelda series, some having a new and distinct flavor added to them. The composers contributing to it include some more well known names such as Daniel Rosenfield from Minecraft, Laura Shigihara of Plants vs. Zombies, Rich Vreeland aka Disasterpiece, and Jimmy Henson from Mass Effect 2. Each artist involved has contributed to many mainstream and independent video games in the past.

From the site you can check out the track list, torrent or download the entire album. It is completely free for all fans of Zelda. You can check out a small sample of the music just after the jump.

This was really amazing, I had to download it seconds after hearing just some of it. This ws a great tribute to the series by some very obvious fans. The set ranges from modern sounds to classical instruments, some of them are medleys that contain a little bit of everything. I thought this was very well done and it sounds very professional. I think track fourteen is my favorite of the set. I definitely reccommend this to any fan.

So what do you think? Did you like the album? Wish they would make some more of these? Let us know in the comments below.
