I like to imagine alternate realities, particularly in video games. What if Bowser is just misunderstood and looking for a friend? What if Alucard joined his father in his fight against the Belmonts? For the Legend of Zelda series, I like to imagine what the series could be from the perspective of a Gerudo hero. Raymusique helps me imagine this even further with a Spanish-influenced take on the main Legend of Zelda theme.

The theme is written in traditional Pasodoble style. In other words, it’s a type of Spanish military composition with a relatively fast pace. This style is used in military marches by Spanish infantry. Infusing this style of music with the main Zelda theme seems only too fitting with the rugged, tough-as-nails Gerudo tribe.

Allow your imagination to run wild when listening to this theme variation. Perhaps, by some strange fluke, another male was born to the Gerudo tribe, and his destiny becomes the fall of Ganondorf. Alternatively, maybe we see a story from a more evil perspective, our Gerudo hero pitted against the legendary Link. It’s a lot of fan fiction fodder, but certainly fun to imagine.

What do you think of this interpretation? What kind of “alternate perspectives” do you imagine in the Zelda series? Let me know in the comments!
