This Ocarina of Time ROM Hack Offers a Brand New Challenge

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a game needing little introduction. The Nintendo 64 classic that successfully brought Nintendo’s beloved franchise into the third dimension is widely regarded as a masterpiece. Not only is it one of the few Zeldas with a direct sequel, Nintendo revisited the title with increased difficulty in Master Quest.
A group of dedicated fans and modders recently released Ultimate Trial, a new Ocarina of Time read-only memory (or ROM) hack. The mod is a sequel to the Nintendo 64 classic, featuring a new story, unique textures, original music, and more. Added to all this is a level of challenge that you won’t find in the base game. The amount of creation and customization the Ultimate Trial team put into their hack is a testament to their love of the source material. It’s sure to please everyone wanting more Ocarina of Time in their lives. Those also interested in the mod’s soundtrack can stream it over on YouTube.
