Theory: What Really is Twilight Princess’ Death Sword?

Widely regarded as the darkest entry in the Zelda series, Twilight Princess contains some of the creepiest and scariest enemies we’ll face in Hyrule. Locked away, deep in the depths of the desert colossus Arbiter’s Grounds lies Death Sword, a phantom possessed sword which Link must defeat to obtain the Spinner item.
Theorist, analyzer, and general Zelda discussion Youtuber Zeltik has put forward his thoughts on exactly where this creepy boss fits into the Zelda canon. The video covers both the sword itself and the phantom which resides within it, using examples from other titles in the series to back up his points. Personally, I think this is an entirely plausible theory, and it highlights how well Twilight Princess, and the series in general, tell its story — giving players just enough information to form their own theories and conclusions.
