Whether loved or hated for it, Majora’s Mask has always been seen as a departure from the more formulaic Zelda series. In both appearance and attitude, it was far darker then any of its predecessors. While such apocalyptic themes and “dark” stories don’t necessarily equate to any real depth, this game actually managed to have real character. The folks over at 4 color rebellion describe this a “fluke”, as the innovation in storytelling has been all but abandoned for innovation in control
