In the world of video games, there are a whole lot of things that can’t really be explained. Fresh off the news of the NES Mini being discontinued, Nintendo has also revealed the sales of their Nintendo Switch and Breath of the Wild. It turns out, probably to the surprise of many people, that the Nintendo Switch is now Nintendo’s fastest selling consoles, and “probably” one of the fastest.

In a strange turn of events, however, it turns out that the Nintendo Switch version of Breath of the Wild has outsold the Nintendo Switch console, by a margin of 19,000+ units. In the month of March alone, the Switch sold at least 906,000 units, with Breath of the Wild selling 925,000 units. It’a also worth mentioning that even though the Wii U version didn’t sell anywhere near as well, it still sold 460,000 units.

There’s always the possibility of the die-hard Nintendo fans buying more than one copy, and we all know what scalpers are like.. but this is still a pretty crazy feat. What are your thoughts on this? How do you think this happened? Let us know in the comments below!
