Zelda fans can rejoice today as Nintendo’s official store has listed the ESRB rating for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The official ESRB rating for Tears of the Kingdom is E10+ for “mild suggestive themes” and “fantasy violence.” Seeing that the two previous mainline console Zelda games, Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild, were both rated the same, this rating shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anybody. However, with an official rating, we can all let out a sigh of relief as this means the game is very likely finished and on track for its projected May 12th release date.

I for one was anticipating a T rating, seeing that developers have said Tears of the Kingdom will be a much darker entry to the Zelda series. But, then again, the nightmare-fueled Majora’s Mask was only rated E back in 2000, so who knows what an E10+ could mean for this much anticipated game of 2023!

How do you feel about the rating? Were you hoping for another T-rated Zelda game like Twilight Princess or something different? Let us know in the comments!
