The Legend Of Zelda In Minecraft

The Legend of Zelda and Minecraft share a lot of fans and from these shared fans we get the occasional combination of the two. All across the web we can look up Zelda themed Minecraft creations, but none have come close to the 1:1 reproduction of Ocarina of Time’s Hyrule by our great friends at GenGame.Net and it seems they are at it again. As a part of the HryuleCraft Project, Kevin from GenGame, has been hard at work building 2:1 replicas of the original Legend of Zelda’s dungeons. This means the dimensions are 28 x 14 as opposed to 14 x 7.

For a closer look, be sure to make the jump inside for the video showing off all the dungeons and more details on the project.

In just four days, Kevin was able to completely build all the classic dungeons on their HyruleCraft server. Although it’s not available for download yet, its nice to have a glimpse at what is to be expected. In addition to the already released 1:1 reproduction of Hyrule and the original NES Zelda Dungeons, we can expect to see some PVP areas, some zones outside of the original Ocarina of Time game, and some maps inspired by A Link to the Past that are still being planned.

While I don’t play Minecraft myself, I have to admit that I would be lying if I said HyruleCraft didn’t excite me. I have to hand it to all the work Kevin and the rest of the guys at GenGAME are putting in on this. From all the attempts at different Zelda themed Minecraft creations I have seen, they are by far doing the best job.
