Ganondorf can be cruel and manipulative; he plans to do whatever it takes to retrieve the other two pieces of the Triforce. This proves true in Ocarina of Time as he easily anticipates the moves of Princess Zelda and Link, just so he can successfully take over Hyrule. It’s only after a long, arduous journey that Link can finally face Ganondorf and right the Evil King’s wrongs. The confrontation within Ganon’s Castle is truly an iconic moment, and it comes with an equally memorable score.

Musician Ro Panuganti recently performed a prog-metal cover of the Ganondorf Battle theme from Ocarina of Time. While maintaining the dramatic nature of original, the arrangement adds a heart-pounding intensity to the track. There’s even a blusey guitar break midway through the song in which we hear the melody of “Zelda’s Lullaby.”

If you like what you hear, Ro has also tackled Zelda scores from titles such as Breath of the Wild, The Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, and Link’s Awakening. As for non-Zelda work, Ro has also covered songs from Doom, Banjo-Tooie, Undertale, Earthbound, Castle Crashers, and many more.
