Screen Shot 2015-12-04 at 6.25.13 AMThe Game Awards Show of 2015 has now come and gone, and sadly for us Zelda fans, we all ended the evening disappointed! We dared to hope that Nintendo would offer us a gleaming light of news for our future adventures in Zelda Wii U, but alas that was not to be. In fact no new announcements were made by Nintendo at all, which for many of us came as somewhat of a surprise. There was one notable moment from the show that did touch many a gamer’s heart. During the show a few minutes were dedicated to remembering the late Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata. From a genuinely moving introduction from Geoff Keighley, to a short video of pictures with Iwata-san, to a very heartfelt speech delivered by Reggie Fils-Aime, the gaming world spent a few moments honoring the life of a man that touched so many lives around the world. If you missed out on the latter, jump in past the break to watch a short segment of the show with the tribute to Satoru Iwata.

As I dry the tears off my face, I can honestly say that this gamer is better off having had Satoru Iwata and Nintendo in my life. One of the things that keeps me tied to Nintendo no matter how mad I do become at them occasionally is the way that I feel once I start playing a game. All the bad stuff, all the stress, whatever Im dealing with just goes away, and for a brief moment in time I have no cares in the world. For a brief moment in time I am a kid again!

What about you? Are you disappointed we didn’t get any new Zelda U information? How did you feel about the tribute to Iwata? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
