This week on Windmill Hut we have another wonderful piano medley by Kyle Landry! Though much shorter than his Ocarina of Time medley, I think the elegance and beauty of this medley makes up for that. Like all Kyle Landry works, this melody is again rich, and leaves the listener with the desire to play a Zelda game, or at the very least listen to the medley over again. Hit the jump to listen!

I hope by now all of you have heard of the great conglomeration of people called Overclocked Remix, and have heard at least a few of the Zelda related music that originates there. Overclocked Remix is exactly what it sounds like, music remixes that are superb, and far surpass most other remixes that are out there. Luckily the popularity of the Zelda series has made Zelda remixes commonplace, but unfortunately that also means we can’t feature everything here in one…

This medley is probably one you’ve heard before because it’s absolutely fantastic, however it’s one that I return to listen to often. The fantastic violin duet coupled with great costumes, scenery, and visual performance of Lindsey Stirling herself make an overall fantastic video. In fact, the violin playing almost makes me want to see how a violin could be incorporated into a future Zelda game. Hit the jump to watch the video!

A few weeks ago on Windmill Hut I posted a (re)orchestrated version of the Sanctuary Dungeon music from A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds by the Blake Robinson Synthetic Orchestra. Well, this week we have some more of his fantastic orchestrations of Zelda music which span three Zelda games. Even music you didn’t necessarily think about while playing the game now sounds grand. Can you guess which games? Hit the jump to find out!

This week on Windmill Hut we have another medley by Kyle Landry, except this time it’s specifically about the songs in Ocarina of Time. Of course, being a Kyle Landry video, this is piano medley, but it’s also a huge conglomeration of music from different parts of the game that add up to almost 14 minutes! In terms of length this is one of the longer medleys we’ve seen. It’s certainly not the longest medley that exists, but I’d argue that it’s…

To coincide with Jordan’s Flute Boy’s Meadow this week, we have for you on Windmill Hut not one, not two, but four different versions of Tal Tal Heights. This popular tune from the end of Link’s Awakening has been covered in varying ways to different effects, but none seem to diverge too far from the intentions of the original theme- to make the player feel excited and accomplished at the same time. Hit the jump to listen!

This week on Windmill Hut I’m going to share some of my absolute favorite Zelda fan music: Time’s End – Majora’s Mask Remixed. This album, by Overclocked Remix contributor Theophany, was released on December 21, 2012 in “celebration” of the supposed end of the world. Luckily, however, the end of the world never came, and six months later we can still enjoy this fantastic album. Hit the jump for a listen!

One of my favorite pianists and musicians for Zelda music is Kyle Landry because of his unique takes on a huge variety of Zelda tunes, all adapted for the piano. Recently Kyle Landry uploaded a video of him playing the Lost Woods theme from Ocarina of Time, except after playing through the original theme for the first thirty seconds, he goes into variations. Some parts are slow, some parts are fast, but they’re all a litte more dramatic than the original….

In celebration of the announcement of the new Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS, I thought we’d take a look at the Zelda themes from the past games. Mega Man and the Wii Fit Girl are new to the party, but Link and Zelda will always have a large spot in the Super Smash Bros series. The new game will hopefully feature some great new takes on classic themes. Hit the jump to take a look at what…

This week on Windmill Hut, we’re going to listen to something a little different. Hopefully many of you are already familiar with brentalfloss, who makes his career covering famous video game songs with hilarious lyrics. And being a Nintendo kind of guy, he’s covered a few Zelda tunes, including a Zelda II medley. Not all of us appreciate the difficulty of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, but hopefully at least this song will make play-throughs a little less painful. Hit…
