“I have scattered the seeds of the future.”  SPOILERS FOR THE WIND WAKER FOLLOW

While there is a lot of hype for the new Zelda games discussed at this year’s E3 Nintendo Digital Event, let’s not forget some of the classic games that are now in the E3 sale in the eShop. The list includes a number of titles available on both the Wii U and 3DS. The list includes:

It takes some talent to paint something Zelda related and make it look as if it could actually be a screenshot from one of the games. That’s basically what reddit user benthunderbolt did with a few of his oil paintings that he shared with fellow Zelda fans over on Imgur. This one here is of the opening screen from Ocarina of Time. It’s so well done, and so identical to the real deal, I can almost see Link and Epona…

The music of the Zelda series is no stranger to covers of all kinds, be they instrumental or acapella, acoustic or hard rock or improvised instruments. One beloved theme is “Dragon Roost Island” from Wind Waker. It’s seen plenty of covers, but probably not one quite like this…

Arin “Egoraptor” Hanson and Leigh Daniel “Danny Sexbang” Avidan, also known as Grump and Not-So-Grump, are the Game Grumps. The Legend of Zelda is no stranger to the Grumps, with Daniel having played the original Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link to completion on the channel. Arin meanwhile has completed the HD version of Wind Waker. Now the Grumps turn their attention to A Link to the Past, with Danny taking control of Link Smeef in their attempt…

ChuChus are the common gel-like enemies seen in many Zelda games. Their somewhat annoying chatter and adorable design have certainly carried these creatures from game to game, and they have become an iconic piece of the series. If you ever wished to own a ChuChu for yourself, you’re now in luck. You can now buy handmade resin ChuChus from LegendaryTreasures on Etsy for $10 USD…

Digital Foundry has put together some videos examining the framerate of The Wind Waker HD, as well as a comparison of the graphics on the HD and original Gamecube versions. There is quite a noticeable difference, and seeing the HD version next to it certainly brings out the… worse points in the Gamecube game’s visuals. Check out the videos after the jump!

With HD remakes and remasters crowding the recent gaming market, Nintendo has continued to set their HD re-releases apart with significant enhancements to graphics and gameplay. One example of this fact was Wind Waker HD, which not only proved what Nintendo can do with an HD remake, but also what the Wii U was capable of technically. With this in mind, gaming group Digital Foundry recently put WWHD to the test, releasing an in-depth performance analysis of the game…

When playing a Zelda game, they (typically) consist with the same formula- some story and/or side-quests, and then the dungeon. However, others have pointed out an excellent question. Would it be preferred that we have more story content in between dungeons? Or maybe, more quests leading up to a dungeon? Anything to fill in the time, so to speak. Wouldn’t it be interesting to see a small change in the formula like that? One Zelda game (I can think of)…

The Wind Waker has some of the most aesthetically interesting items and weapons in the entire Zelda series. This fact did not go unnoticed by artist Soren Kalla, who lovingly crafted both the Hero’s Shield and Mirror Shield as they appeared in the GameCube classic. The detail and craftsmanship on these shields are simply amazing, and Kalla was kind enough to include step-by-step images on the artist’s Imgur page…
